Dear Third Graders and Parents,

I am so glad to back in class for the remainder of the year. I hope we can work together to make the rest of the year exciting and fun! This is my fifth year teaching at Foster School. I have previously taught 1st grade for 4 years and I am looking forward to venturing out into third grade this year. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with the students and families in this wonderful community!

So now here’s a little information about myself. I attended and graduated Illinois State University with an Elementary Education certificate combined with an endorsement in Language Arts. I am currently going back to school to receive my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Olivet Nazarene University. I currently reside in Manteno, IL with my family. My husband, Ryan, is a social worker and an age group swim coach for a local area swim club. My son, Bryce, is 2 1/2 years old and is on the go! The newest addition to my family is my five month old daughter, Brea Rose. Although I have been very busy during my leave I haven’t missed a beat with the class. I kept in touch with Mrs. S quite often and got regular updates on the classes progress.

I love teaching at Foster. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. Together, I am sure we can make it a truly rewarding second semester for all of us! If you ever have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to call, write, or email me. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your cooperation. It is much appreciated.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Counihan
